The biggest savings I'm getting from taking the train to work now?
It isn’t in gas money…it’s the fact that I’m no longer tempted to swing by the bookstore when afternoon traffic is bad. Which inevitably lead to at the very least the purchase of a novel, or poetry collection, or costlier-than-average magazine like Monocle, Harper’s, or Atlantic (or the latest Lapham’s Quarterly).
Now I can be more cost-conscious, subscribe to the aforementioned magazines for less money, and use the savings on tasty, tasty beer.
